Maintaining Your Patek Philippe Watch
One of the wonderful things about investing in a
Patek Philippe watch is that you know that you will
have a timepiece that will be passed on to future
generations indefinitely. These watches are designed
and manufactured with such precision and detail that
they will meet any needs and requirements that an
individual may have. The only thing that you will
need to be sure of, is to follow the maintenance
schedule for the watch.
The authorized agents of the company are specially
trained to maintain and repair the watches. They are
provided with the proper tools and calibrators to
assure that every mechanism in your watch is kept
working at its optimum level. If you invest in a
watch that is hand-wound you will need to take it to
an authorized agent every three to five years for a
maintenance check-up. If you have a battery operated
quartz watch, you will need to take it to the
authorized agent every two to three years, or when
the battery begins to go dead.
Regular maintenance of your watch is key to keeping
it maintained for generations. The cost for routine
maintenance for current watches to those that are
twenty years old is set by the company. If the watch
is damaged there will be additional costs added by
the agent. When replacement or repair much be
conducted, the prices will vary among the authorized
agents.
If you have invested in a water-resistant watch,
such as the Nautilus, you will need to have an
authorized agent do a water test every year. If you
live near the ocean or other sea water, taking it in
each year will also be wise to assure that there is
no salt water in the watch.
